Volunteer with Conam
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community whilst gaining new experiences and skills. Our volunteers are the reason why we can offer such a diverse programme of support responding to different needs of individuals and communities within the LGBT+ community.
We strive for an environment where there’s a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, and we work hard to accommodate access needs.
Volunteering with Conam means you will make a difference to the lives of LGBTQ+ people in Canada. Whether you are LGBTQ+ or someone committed to LGBTQ+ equality and human rights, we welcome you.
Community development is at the centre of what we do and volunteers are involved at all levels of our organisation. As a volunteer with LGBT Health and Wellbeing, you could:
- participate in the development and delivery of social events
- provide support on our counselling service and national LGBT+ Helpline
- sit on our Board of Directors
We have a wide range of projects and services representing diverse communities within the LGBTQ+ community and we invite you to have a look through our support programme to find a project you would like to get involved with.
From governing our organisation on the Board to delivering our LGBT Helpline, offering counselling sessions and coordinating events, volunteers are involved at all levels of our organisation, making decisions and delivering support.
Everyday we are grateful for the contribution of our volunteers and would like to take this opportunity to highlight their invaluable work.
Join Us in Making a Difference
Our people make up a vibrant, dynamic community. Lots our staff have a personal investment in the work we do, and many come from marginalised backgrounds. We’re proud of this diversity, and of our support for one another – in our teams, our network groups, and our friendships.
We also have network groups run by and for different groups within Conam. These include groups for bi, trans, PoC, ace, women, disabled staff and people of faith, along with a Mental Health and Wellbeing network.
